From a tree which was collected in Switzerland in 1992
This mugo pine was collected by Serge Clemence in Switzerland. I traded it in 1993 and am happy since with it. I wanted it because it would give me the opportunity to create a tree with almost absurd proportions. While the bonsai books say that 1:6 is a good proportion and anything below 1:4 would be grotesque, this tree is about 1: 1.8. When I started with it I could see this and thought that it would be very drastic. Times have changed. Now, that it is more or less finished it is mainstream taste.
