Japanese Black Pine (Pinus thunbergiana) #1

About 20 cm high
Around 20 years old
Pot by John Pitt
From a tree which was imported as raw material in 2006

This was imported as second or third rate tree. It is the regular Japanese Black Pine and not a dwarf variety. It had a one-sided poor nebari and a crown which was way too wide. I acquired it because it was inexpensive and it allowed me to create something that does NOT look like the standard JBP shohin. I styled it in a small demo in Versailles, France in may 2007. It is not much still, but it is different at least.
