◄ BackAustrian Black Pine (Pinus nigra Austriaca) #2About 60 cm high This tree I got in a trade from Robert in summer of 2002. It had the obvious fault of reverse taper and no good nebari at all. Such trees grow in narrow crevices of a rock and cannot develop a good nebari. One often finds this with ponderosa pines but also with collected black pines. That's the price you have to pay for the quality of the trunk. It wuld not be so if the tree had bettter living conditions before. A nursery grown black pine will always have a better nebari, but it will never have the character of this tree. You cannot have it all. |
